Kenya – Ichamama AA

In Nyeri, near the base of Mount Kenya, the Othaya Farmer’s Co-operative Society runs the Ichamama wet mill. Cherries come from smallholder farmers across the Othaya region, many of them women, and are hand picked and hand sorted before processing. This is a cooperative effort built on shared work from the start.

Fully washed and sun dried on raised beds, these SL28, SL34, and Ruiru 11 beans carry the care of that process into every batch. The mill’s name comes from the Ichamama river that flows nearby, a reminder that the water and the land are part of the story too.
