Kagunyu Factory sits in the Karatina area of Nyeri, part of the Rumukia Farmer Cooperative Society. Smallholder farmers deliver cherries to the washing station, each personally managing their own land. Kagunyu works with Kamavindi, who guides and oversees processing, turning cherries into something rare and wild for Kenya.
Natural processing creates big fruit flavors that are a bit rustic, with complex fermented notes. Their SL28, SL34, and Ruiru11 blend tastes winey and citrus-bright with osmanthus tea arriving clean. For espresso, this coffee shows its true nature: deep complexity, fermented fruit, unrestrained and alive.
